Frank Keesling and his wife Willa were on their way to Alaska in 1956-57 when they stopped at Stellako Lodge on East Francois Lake. They fell in love with the area and bought the lodge. They owned and operated the lodge for the next 12 - 15 years before selling. They modernized the cabins and added a power generator. Frank was an an attorney in Hollywood. Family relatives remember him talking about his most prominent client, John Wayne.
